“In creating a logo for a government agency, I knew that I had to simplify it so that it could be easily read while imparting authority. I chose an eagle to represent both wildlife and the United States. I manipulated the feathers of the wings to create a tree in the negative space, which is representative of the forests and is a nod to the iconic pine tree that is associated with the US Forest Service.”
