Duration: I’ve been freelancing as an illustrator for about four years and continue a day job as an assistant at a small branding agency.
Education: Pacific Northwest College of Art.
Cultural influences: I find my work constantly influenced by the Byzantine frescos, work from the neoclassical movement, American Gothic horror writing and modern Japanese animation.
Artistic influences: Jillian Tamaki, James Jean, John William Waterhouse, Yoshitaka Amano, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo... I feel like the list could go on infinitely.
Big break: I’m not sure I’ve had one.
Work environment: My apartment.
Technique: Hand-drawn sketches, scanned and painted digitally.
Philosophy: Commit to something fully or don’t do it.
