Unilever’s laundry detergent brand Persil launched a new commercial as part of its Dirt Is Good campaign. Developed by creative agency DLKW Lowe, the :50 spot focuses on B Girl Terra, a young breakdancing prodigy from the United Kingdom. As Terra practices her dance moves outside in the park, her tracksuit becomes covered in dirt, reflecting Persil’s campaign positioning that getting dirty helps children unleash their full potential. At the end of her dance routine, Terra performs an incredible sustained head spin that spins her tracksuit clean—a visual metaphor for the detergent’s cleaning power. The film ran online and on television, and was supported by an integrated campaign containing out-of-home and digital elements.
