Those who want to create a welcoming residence with a modern aesthetic may believe that obtaining this look means having to sacrifice comfort. But a new collection developed by Target, design and architecture publication Dwell, and codesigners Chris Deam and Nick Dine delivers more than 120 home decor items and furnishings designed to be an integral part of daily life. The home collection, called Modern by Dwell Magazine, allows shoppers to modernize their homes with products that are as functional as they are beautiful.
New York–based design firm COLLINS was engaged by Target to create and launch a new brand for the Modern by Dwell Magazine line. Drawing inspiration from the same benevolent, modernist ethos that Dwell used to approach the line’s products, COLLINS and Target Creative created a comprehensive, modular design system that’s being applied across products, packaging, communications and retail environments. The creative solution leverages a respect for American modernism to organize the line’s many different products and accessories into a bright and inviting story.
